It’s no surprise that we have an obsession with the image-driven, web-crazy social media platform, Pinterest – we’ve created several pinboards that boast our rumor-spreading deals, fashion and beauty tips, sweet vacation spots and anything else we deem amazing. But where would we be without our savvy savers? This is where YOU come in.

The most wonderful time of the year is upon us, and no, it’s not Christmas. On the cusp of spring and summer, musicians are out on the road looking to bring their tunes to the masses. Even though some of the biggest fests like Coachella, Ultra, and Lollapalooza are already sold out, fear not; you can still get in on the best music parties of the season.
In this 3 part series, we’re breaking down a few of the best festivals that can get you some serious bang for your buck, and for our first installment we’re going to start with the best events in the indie/alternative scene.

One of our sweet deals- 52% off the subscription price for a year of O, The Oprah Magazine - got us thinking. She’s touched everyone on many different levels, but few people have had a greater impact on pop culture than the infamous media queen.
What immediately comes to mind is her book club. I, for one, have spent countless hours with Oprah’s book selections for her infamous book club. One of her 2007 picks, The Road, had a tremendous impact on my life and deeply inspired me. One of her 1998 picks Where the Heart Is, the story of a girl who gives birth to a daughter named Americus in the back of a Walmart, kept me turning pages all night. And Wally Lamb’s I Know This Much is True is, to this day, the longest book I’ve ever finished (998 pages).
And then of course there was her show; alternately inspiring, entertaining, and fun. It gave me something to look forward to every day when I got home from school. She always had the best guests; Nelson Mandela, famous casts and even a woman with 92 distinct personalities. She also always went on fun adventures. She taught audiences that big dreams are entirely attainable if you have the will power and courage to do so.
But my fondest memory is this: One Christmas Day, she had a very special episode about a girl’s school she was opening in Africa. She traveled to Africa and talked to the girls who were to be its first students; exploring their home lives and their willingness to learn and educate themselves amongst dire conditions. I watched it with my dad on Christmas day and it made both of us cry.
However you feel about Oprah, you can’t deny her cultural contributions to our world. She has had a lasting impression on all of us, around the world, and her impact will be felt for decades to come.

I know that Christmas break was only a month ago, but is it just me or does it seem like it was eons ago? Seriously. I need a vacation. And with these attractive deals it looks like I’ll be able to afford one!
First off, we have still have an awesome deal for Phuket, Thailand, one of the most incredible places on earth — or so I hear. I imagine that there are wild elephants running around everywhere, crystal-clear water perfect for snorkeling, awesome hikes to take and an exotic culture to soak up. Okay, maybe I’m wrong about the elephants, but the rest seems pretty accurate.
Of course, while not SUPER relaxing, family vacations are always fun, too, and with this incredible Orlando deal - a trip to the happiest place on earth sounds rather enticing. Disneyworld has it all- delicious restaurants, world-renowned entertainment and the single-most infectiously happy mood I’ve ever come across. Plus a whole land dedicated to James Cameron’s “Avatar” is being built at the Animal Kingdom park which should surely cure that Pandora depression so many fans experienced post-film.
If you’re looking for a more romantic getaway, we also have a in the Napa Valley escape —one of my most favorite places to visit. I have yet to find a town that beats the delicious food — and the resorts? Simply spectacular!
Helpful hint: If you’re heading to Napa, we suggest you leave your diet at home due to all the tasty temptations
These deals are sure to go fast, so it’s time to stop daydreaming and start exploring!

This year is sailing by, fast. It’s already (thankfully) October. That means 2011 is pretty much wrapped up. That means it is pretty much 2012, and we all know what that means.
But, let’s not jump too far ahead, October is an exciting month, there’s a lot going on. It starts off with the excitement of Fall beginning, there are leaves changing colors and up north the radiators are starting to warm up. October is both World Vegetarian Month AND Eat a Country Ham Month. Columbus day is in there, as is Mad Hatter Day, Leif Erikson Day, as well as the always introspective Evaluate Your Life Day.
But, the best feature of October, aside from the dying leaves and the impending Pumpkin Apocalypse is of course Halloween. Halloween has every quality you would want in an awesome day. There’s candy, dressing up and pretending to be a superhero, and wandering aimlessly through neighborhoods you rarely go into.
And what is the most important part of Halloween?

If you aren’t already working on your costume, you’re running behind. If you don’t want to trick out your own costume, at least get a good deal on one.
To all our awesome locals- check out this SWEET deal for the Boca Raton Food & Wine Fest! http://t.co/aCFPjjB8

While we are all celebrating Rosh Hashanah, let’s not forget the other holidays that happen today. It’s also International Coffee Day and Confucius Day.

While Confucius day is often celebrated by opening up a fortune cookie or reading over the 499 great wisdoms that he left us, Coffee day can get you something more practical - a free cuppa.

According to their facebook pages both Krispy Kreme and 7-11 are giving away free coffee today, go get some.

Happy Johnny Appleseed Day!
Today is the day we celebrate the birth of John Chapman back on September 26, 1774.

Aside from all the legends, Johnny Appleseed was a very cool guy. He makes the modern green yuppies look like a bunch of whiny kids because he wore no shoes while traveling across the midwest setting up nurseries and spreading apple seeds around (he never even used a plastic bag, but if they had been available, I doubt he would’ve). He was a vegetarian way before it even became popular (total hipster cred). He was an animal rights activist, so much so that he put out a fire after witnessing mosquitoes flying into the flame, preferring to be cold rather than kill some bugs (PETA look out). Johnny also has a gritty backstory about betrayed love, he was so burned by the love lost that he refused to ever marry or settle down - which is good because I like apples.
So, raise a glass of warm cider to one of the original superheros. The man, the myth, and the wanderer: Johnny Appleseed.
There are few things worse than losing a dog or cat, or any type of pet really. It’s a panic-attack inducing time when you run around the house and don’t see your furry family member. Then, race outside and still nothing.

That is where Amber Alert for Pets comes in. Our deal will get you a year long membership to AAFP. Membership gets you access to their network of users around the country who by signing up have vowed to do their best to help other users find their lost pets. An alert goes out to users who are near your lost friend and everyone keeps an eye out.
When it comes to losing anything, it is good to have a concerned community behind you to help.
